Yes I would like a Polka Dot Porsche

Yes I would like a Polka Dot Porsche

Fame does something to a person. It lifts your spirits, gives you this momentary peak of confidence- the type where you’d think you’d fly if you jump off a building (kids, don’t do that), and makes you feel oh-so- flips hair– important. And with great fame, comes great responsibility.

I had my 15 minutes of Fame. (no guys, it was literally 15 minutes, minus the time getting to the location)

I also had great responsibility on my shoulders, the responsibility to perfect the perfect polka dot pose to best represent the clothing line I was wearing, as well as my personality.

Nicolette Lang-Andersen, a local fashion designer has created a new line of dresses that are meant to empower the every day fashionista. Her creation is simple yet chic, the chicness from the simplicity. The dress is cut to fit every body type, hugging at the right places and giving you the confidence to strut your stuff in the city of yoga pants (no offence). From stripes, to polka dots, to a simple clean black and white, the Swoon dress will surely well.. make you swoon.

Unless you’ve actually got a health condition where looking at stripes and polka dots do make you dizzy, you’d have the solid colour designs better working in your favor.

In this shoot, I was amongst several other local fashionistas to be chauffeured in a polka dot Porsche c/o Miles End Motors to a secret location for our 15 minutes. It was a sunny Vancouver day, we had the roof down and sashayed in style as passerbys peep to see who was in the car and children pointed and jumped thinking I was a new Disney Princess. *yes suck it all in, all that fame*

I personally love this dress because it truly lets the best of your personality through. What do I mean you ask? Seeing the different poses and pictures from my fellow fashionistas, one thing that stood out was how different everyone decided to portray themselves in the dress, some went for sexy, classy, funny, crazy.. confused? And that’s exactly what clothing should do for a woman, it should bring out the best in your personality.

I suppose one could do far worse than a spotted Porsche GRIN (when in reality, she would ever so willingly give up a kidney or a child for one of her very own).

    1. I love me some cheeky alliteration “perfect the perfect polka dot pose.” 2. What a fun experience! I totally agree with you, our clothes should definitely bring out the best in our personalities. That’s part of the reason why dressing up and trying new looks is so fun!
