Unconventional Tips to Start Exercising Again

Let me just start by saying, I am by no means, NO MEANS  a fitness expert, or junkie or yogi or whatever you avocados call yourselves (I say this with love, I love avocados).

I am writing this from the perspective of a girl who exercises once a month, the non-avocado. If you must know the inspiration for this post, I woke up this morning in so much pain in various parts of my body thanks to my dear frenemy: Bob the Exercise Bike.

So here are some of my tips to start exercising again!! (if you’ve taken a long break)

1. Set your goal

Be Healthy    I’d like to jiggle less in certain places please

2. Have a workout strategy or schedule in place

Work out at 8.30 am every morning   Eat-> feel bad->workout-> eat to reward yourself

3. Motivate yourself with healthy reinforcements

Place motivational quotes around for you to look at

Chant ‘JLos Butt’ as you hike, plus, think about the Instagram pictures you could take when you reach the view point

4. Take transit

When you take transit, you drive less and walk more

Actually I’m almost always just making it to the bus stop so I end up doing cardio anyway

5. Get your boyfriend to do sit up kisses with you

How sweet  Though, I actually meant Hershey kisses

6. Race with yourself

Treat every appointment you have like a race to the finish line. Run to your next coffee meeting, push those in your way and work those arm muscles as you hold you Starbucks from spilling!

Jokes over, but really, get your butt moving.

Do you have funny ways to motivate yourself? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear it!

    Hahaha, girl this is brilliant!

“Chant ‘JLos Butt’ as you hike, plus, think about the Instagram pictures you could take when you reach the view point” >> Happens every time. I sing her “big big booty” song to get me to the top of the mountain. Works every time!!

Start with a small commitment and build up. For example, set a goal to do 10 push ups and 10 sit ups each morning, and do that every day for a week. The next week, add 10 burpees. The next week, double the amount of reps for each exercise… yo u get the idea.

The only way to form good habits is slowly 🙂
