It’s been quite some time since I got down to writing a style based post! I am recently inspired by the trend of wearing your innerwear on the outside! Basically, the whole wearing a bralette as a top trend.
I have to admit, I was not a big fan of the whole ‘wear a bralette as a top’ at first. But it has grown on me!
Finding the right way to pair a bralette with other items in my closet is a key step in finding my own, unique style of wearing it.
In this post, I’m sharing my style tips to wearing a bralette as a top with you (yay!):
The Rule Of Thumb: Top & Bottom Balance
Like Mama Sito says, balance is key!
Especially with outfits.
Having this in mind, I decided to pair the lace top with jeans, as opposed to shorts or a tight skirt.
To me, it provides a nice balance for the whole outfit. Not only that, it helps to avoid looking skimpy. With pieces like the bralette, this is a great way to still look sexy, without being trashy.
I also find that with this tip of balance in mind, you can have a never ending closet filled with choices!
Layer on top or underneath the bralette
I am a big fan of layering. This adds more definition and depth to a look. Not only that, you can wear it in so many different ways.
I am pairing the lace bralette with a floral blazer for a more formal vibe here. You can layer it with a blazer, leather jacket or coat and it all creates a different impression/style.
I personally love layering with the blazer because it’s very chic. If you want to be a tad more conservative and are not comfortable just wearing the bralette, this is a nice alternative!
Accessorize like any other outfit
I love accessories! I feel like they make an outfit.
Whether it’s dressing an outfit up with more statement pieces, or to add a little bit of pizzazz to a look with subtle pieces, I’m all for it!
