The world today is one that is very much interconnected through social media. It becomes almost a necessity to have online presence to seem relevant- and that carries through in almost every occupation that you undertake. Writers, designers, students and brands take to social media to be seen and it almost seems like social media is THE one marketing tool that everybody needs to have to be successful. I found She Is clothing through social media as well- namely Instagram. Garnering over 25 thousand followers, it’s fair to wonder how a clothing brand that bears a simple phrase can be so successful. The answer is- It’s not a simple phrase. It is a powerful, deep longing and connection that is clothed in the simplicity of a phrase.

This. Biblical or not. Speaks to generations of women.
Wearing an item with a motivational message does something. It acts as a reminder. As an outward expression of belief. And acts also to inspire others. That’s what clothing should be and should do, especially today. Today– in a world where girls are surrounded by mass media that portrays an ideal look to be achieved. Today– in a world where girls compete instead of support one another. Today– in a world where you feel like you’re not good enough.
This is why I believe that the brand has garnered so many fans. It creates a feeling of community and strength behind the clothes you wear, and you exert what you feel to the outside world. There is strength is being vulnerable and admitting you need encouragement and help. A strong individual ISN’T strong all the time.
