Summer time calls for bright colours, floral prints, material that is breathable, light, yet stylish. I absolutely love summer- not just because 3/4 of my wardrobe consists of summer wear but because the city comes alive when the sun shines bright. People seem happier, birds chirp more, and beer tastes better. It’s a mindset definitely but that’s the beauty of summer, so why fight it?
In the spirit of my favourite season, a tropical inspired shoot was in order featuring a brand that fits a preppy, jovial style that screams fun. Often misunderstood as a purely male oriented brand and overlooked despite its location in the bustling streets of Vancouver, Brooks Brothers is a highly popular label in the United States.
What I was pleasantly surprised to know is that they also carry a beautiful line of womens’ wear ranging from dresses, blazers, shoes, hats and scarves. It varies along the spectrum of casual to business attire. For men who are looking for that perfect suit, you can find a huge array of specially tailored suits fitted to perfection.
Brooks Brothers prides itself in being the leading brand that dates all the way back to the 1800s – dressing individuals such as presidents to celebrities. This might give the impression that items sold here are very highly priced- which is and isn’t true at the same time.
You pay for what you get. The dress shirts are made of a special fabric that doesn’t wrinkle. High quality material will of course come at a high price. That being said, the brand does have special student discounts and items that are affordable to students and the working class!
