I always tell people that I work two (or more) jobs! I have a 9-5 that I truly enjoy and still run my blog that I very much love after 5 years.
The nature of my work in blogging and media is that I am regularly photographed and have the occasional television segment, and frequent media events as well as face-to-face meetings.
In a nutshell, I show my face around a lot haha. Because of this, I place a lot of importance on my appearance and believe that self-confidence should not only come from within, but that your outward appearance also plays an important role in boosting your self-confidence!
I mean, your skin is your largest organ and should be treated with the utmost care.

So confession time; I have this bad habit of pretending that my makeup remover is my facial cleanser – it’s bad, I know! I’d say I have a combination skin type, it’s mostly dry, though slightly oily in my T-zone area, and so I’ve been trying out Bioré® Baking Soda Acne Clearing Cleansing Foam and Bioré® Baking Soda Acne Scrub which are good for combination skin types.
In case you’re wondering to yourself, why baking soda?
I did some research (thank you Google), and did you know that baking soda has natural cleansing properties that helps clean pores by pushing the dirt out?
So a couple first thoughts about Bioré® Baking Soda Acne Clearing Cleansing Foam and Scrub, I found it to be very pleasant smelling (yes, this is important to me), and it’s good on my skin. The cleanser is a very light foam and is easily applied, whereas the scrub has spherical beads for exfoliation (as many scrubs do). I have been using the cleanser on a somewhat daily basis because I do wear makeup daily and am slowly working towards reducing the amount of foundation I put on my face, but for now, cleansing it will do. As for the exfoliating scrub, I’m keeping it to 1-2 times a week!
There is something about cleansing my face that I really enjoy. I feel that my pores are unclogged and everything just feels so fresh and all the makeup is washed off! Another thing I really liked is that, because my skin is already so dry, I haven’t found the Bioré® cleanser to dry my skin any further. So far, so good!
I believe that self-confidence is like any other muscle in our body. It needs to be trained, nurtured and practiced. As much as confidence should come from within ourselves, taking care of ourselves not only includes mentally and emotionally, but also physically.
